Most people who know me will tell you that I eat pretty healthy. I learned early on to listen to my body and give it what it wants to be truly healthy.
It’s an evolution as most things are. Bodies change, tastes change, life changes. I’m not saying I’m perfect. I love a good cheese now and then – even though my body doesn’t so much. I get the reminders from my body that asks me “Why oh why did you eat that cheese? You know I don’t like it.” And I reply, “Because it was so delicious!”
Was it worth it? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It really does come down to choices. Being in tune with what your body really wants and making choices to give it what it wants or dealing with the consequences and being ok with that. I may briefly regret how I feel after I ate that cheese but I made my choice knowingly and don’t feel guilty about it. I can take this as a learning experience and decide next time if I want to make the same choice or not. We have choices. Besides, life is too short to feel guilty.
