Making dinner, drinking a glass of wine, listening to music. My favorite way to unwind after work. It’s not officially winter yet but our Minnesota weather says otherwise. I don’t generally like winter. But there are aspects of it I really enjoy. I complain about leaving work in the dark but I work downtown and it’s actually quite pretty at night with all of the lights on. Mindful Eating – Part 3

Now that you are noticing what you are eating (Part 1) and how you feel (Part 2), the next step in Mindful Eating is about Heathy-er Eating, making small incremental lifestyle changes that lead to long term health. That doesn’t mean you have to cut out all of your favorite foods, never to eat them again. It just means making smarter choices – most of the time. And when you really want that special sweet treat or deep fried goodie – have it, savor it and do not feel guilty about it. Just remember to be mindful while you’re eating it so you can really enjoy it.

Mindful Eating – Part 2

Now that you’ve spent some time truly noticing how your food tastes, feels, smells, gives you satisfaction, I want to you take it a step further. Keep doing what you are doing, but I want you to start noticing how your body feels throughout the day. Are you energetic or lethargic at certain times of the day?
